In Search. Of the Eternal. And the Absolute.

It's thirty past two and there is absolutely no sign of sleep...

The day past was different from the others; that much I knew when I woke up. Little did I know, in what way... I am happy I did not disappoint myself today.

And still, the sleep doesn't come. Perhaps it will be one of those nights.

A traveller is setting off on a fresh journey today; I wish her my very best.

Rainy Guitar Morning

In one of those rarest of rare occurrences, I woke up on my own accord in the morning; that too at 5.30 am. With nothing else to do, I ended up playing the guitar. Suprabhatam anyone?

It's been raining almost continuously since over 24 hours now. Shall wait and watch, hopefully the drive to office won't be too bad.

Listening to 'Bheegi Bheegi' from Gangster and 'Ab Na Ja' by Euphoria. Well, I guess it's better than listening to Megadeth (which cheered me up yesterday morning!).

The book reading is going great guns; I ended up reading more than half of Richad Branson too!

My niece is standing in front of me, blowing kisses at me and wishing me a good morning; lemme play with her a lil.

7 Books And A Night Of Coincidences

I have 7 books that I must read.

1. Amartya Sen - The Argumentative Indian
2. Amartya Sen - Identity and Violence
3. Karen Armstrong - Holy War
4. Richard Branson - Losing My Virginity
5. Edward De Bono - Lateral Thinking
6. Fritjof Capra - Tao Of Physics
7. Oscar Wilde - Selected Works

All 7 were acquired in the last 10 days in varying circumstances. I think I have enough reading (and circumstances?) to suffice for the next quarter at least.

Rather ambitiously, I have embarked upon reading nos. 2 and 3 since they are similar to some extent and explore the reasons for conflict in today's world.

Coincidentally, no.2 begins with a quote from Oscar Wilde :)

Earlier in the evening, (actually I must stop referring to 10 pm as 'evening'; it's too late in the day to be called evening, I suppose.. but stems from a habit of listening to DD news readers saying 'Good Evening' before starting off on the 9 pm news and ending it with 'That's all for tonight, Good Night' and as usual I have put almost an entire paragraph in parentheses, which is not a good reflection on my language skills... but to continue the pre-parenthesis part) I was looking for some mutiliated pictures of the Monalisa. The reason for this is quite complicated and owes allegiance to a number of things among which count my (supposed) skills in designing posters, a red bull and minor celebrations in my Bangalore office. I did chance upon some interesting representations of Ms.Lisa (though that's a rather inaccurate disintegration of her name since her surname was unknown, though Lisa Ray is one of my perennial favourites and through some quirk of coincidence is being approached to play a lesbian in some forthcoming movie...I shall spare you the details, though Ms.Ray [as opposed to Ms.Lisa] is rather cute {I am running out of parentheses!! and this looks like one of those silly, complicated equations from Algebra class!!!!}]) of which I must share this, this and this.

After a long search, I decided to watch some TV and coincidentally HBO was running trailers of the movie 'Monalisa Smile'. The movie stars Julia Roberts (my eternal favourite) and Julia Stiles (who reminds me of the sister of a friend of mine) and has nothing to do with The Da Vinci Code or any form of cryptography (not that Ms. Roberts wouldn't make a cute Sophie Neveu).

There were some other coincidences also, of a supernatural kind, which I am not too keen on sharing right now lest the guy playing the guitar on top of this blog get scared.

And now, I shall either
(a) Read TV OR
(b) Watch the books

It's late.

Question

Why do females wear tops that barely reach their waists and then spend the whole day pulling them down?

My first visit to the Himalayas

Had a lightning trip to Delhi, Haridwar and Rishikesh. I left for Delhi on Thursday morning and attended meetings throughout Thursday and Friday. Left for Haridwar by the Dehra Dun AC Special and arrived at 3:25 am. Visited Neelkanth and Rishikesh during the day and was back for Aarti by 1900 at Haridwar. Performed a puja on Sunday morning before catching the train back to Delhi. Visited at Amrita Shergill Marg and moved to Gurgaon to meet friends. Caught the 2255 flight to Mumbai and was home by 0200 am on Monday morning.

In office as usual...

The pics are here.

Full details to follow soon.
