Mumbai Rain Repeat?

Prima facie, it seems so. After spending close to an hour crawling 100 m in the bargain. Returned to office; seems like we shall spend the night here.

BMC, why is this happening? No lessons learnt from last year? And we wonder why we are not at international standards. Khayali pulao pakao!

Black

An evening, not so long ago... just February 2004 actually. Tamsie, Kash, KQ and I at the Barista on JM Road in Pune. And this song, with KQ and I on guitars.. he did an amazing job of singing it too...

My obsession for now :)

Pearl Jam - Black
Hey... oooh...
Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me as her body once did.
All five horizons revolved around her soul
As the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn

Ooh, and all I taught her was everything
Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore
And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds
Of what was everything.
Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...

I take a walk outside
I'm surrounded by some kids at play
I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear?
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin round my head
I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning
How quick the sun can drop away

And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass
Of what was everything?
All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...

All the love gone bad turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all I'll be... yeah...
Uh huh... uh huh... ooh...

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life,
I know you'll be a sun in somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine

Aah... uuh..

RSI & Other things

My boxer's fracture's made a reappearance, this time via RSI. Barely able to type this and have been kinda outta action for a while too. To add to it, I was using a different laptop for some time and I don't think it was really nice on my hand... so there's this killing ache that shoots up above the wrist and prevents me from thinking about anything else for some time :-s

The past weekend was nice, celebrated my parents' anniversary. It was fun and a good time was had by all.

For various reasons, feeling liberated. Out of the shadows... I am back, yeah!

All Quiet

It's been a quiet weekend so far; nothing much to report. It's the 39th anniversary of my parents' marriage today. Planned a few surprises. Will be out for a nice n' quiet dinner in a while.

On continuous loop in my ipod -

Eric Clapton - Old Love

I can feel your body
When I'm lying in bed
There's too much confusion
Going around through my head

And it makes me so angry
To know that the flame still burns
Why can't I get over?
When will I ever learn?

Old love, leave me alone
Old love, go on home

I can see your face
But I know that it's not real
It's just an illusion
Caused by how I used to feel

And it makes me so angry
To know that the flame will always burn
I'll never get over
I know now that I'll never learn

Old love, leave me alone
Old love, go on home

It's the Unplugged version that I am freaking out on; I do have 6 different versions of the song though.. (including one of my own :P)

P.S. Edited to add, the guitar solo in this version is exotic beyond belief. My inspiration for the song 'Peace'. Chuck Leavell on keyboards scores a brilliant 10/10 as well.

Part II Of The Tag

5 really exotic dishes you have tried

I am an absolute imbecile when it comes to food. Plus, for me exotic is something that could be quite commonly available yet tingles the tastebuds. From that perspective, this new bhelpuriwalla has arrived near office. He creates custom bhel puris for us, depending on our likes and dislikes. I find that quite exotic for now. And yeah, anything that my mom cooks is quite exotic.

When I was in Bangalore, Annie cooked some pasta once - she found it quite disgusting and I thought it was exotic.

5 crushes/loves in your life

Oh hell, no way. Been there done that. Had enough too. No more chemical/physical/biological reactions please!

Strangest dream you ever had

I don't usually remember my dreams very well. My dreams have usually been strange (depending on perspective) so I will pick out my favourite dream. It's the one in which I am flying... well not flying really, but gliding a coupla inches above the ground. It's quite a recurrent dream and makes me happy when I wake up (and remember it).

In fact, I distinctly remember having done this a long time ago in school, but I guess no one will ever believe me.

I also flew in air for about 3 seconds when I had the bike accident. That doesn't count.

5 most valued personal possessions

There is no single most valued possession that I have with me. I always give them away. The last one being Evelynne to Annie. I believe in giving that which is most valued to those who are most valued. And I never feel any pangs either.

5 favorite superheroes

1.Batman: Somehow, his dark and foreboding features/background coupled with the fact that he doesn't have any real superpowers is what I like most.
2.Phantom: For reasons similar as above. Though I doubt that I could survive without a fan in the African jungle
3. Mandrake: How I wish I could gesture hypnotically and make people believe all kinds of nonsense ;-) perfect for a guy in Marketing.
4.Supremo: Amitabh Bachchan rocks!
5.Dad: He's the best there is!

And now that this one's over, my current fave on the pod - 'Barra Barra' from Black Hawk Down :)
