"Man! I love the sea!", she sounded happy. She looked happy.

He was happy too.

If the world could exist in moments in time, it was a happy world.

**********************
They didn't know what to say. Words were pointless, they wouldn't even register. The traffic rumbled on, the dust rose around them.

He squinted his eyes so the emotions wouldn't show. She had dark glasses on.

This was their goodbye. There would be other goodbyes, but this was the real thing.

**********************
He gave her his tightest hug and lifted her up briefly in the air. She laughed. A brief kiss on the forehead, a quick exchange of glances and she had to go.

"Don't worry", he called out. "It's just another country. Just be careful with the ostriches."

She laughed nervously. He smiled. Her parents watched, misty eyed.

They wouldn't be meeting for a long time. It was gonna be tough. Bloody tough.

**********************
"You better not give up on us, else I will kick your butt", he growled. She laughed as she always did when he said that.

A few hours later...

"You better not give up on us, else I will kick your butt", she threatened. He laughed. Coming from her, it was a first.

**********************
"Wake me up after 10 mins please?", she whispered.

He smiled, some things were never gonna change.

**********************
"What's the time there?", she inquired sleepily.
"Two Fourty Five", he replied.

Suddenly, she was wide awake.

"Why the hell are you up so late?", she demanded.

"Didn't you just say 10 mins more?"

**********************
Good night, he thought. And he knew that she could hear him.

beautiful post ... beautiful story. such a sweet song can never die out, or fade, even in the cold winds of distance and seperation. rest is just a matter of patience. is it not so? :)

Plucked a chord deep within. Distances are gaps, easiest to cover in a relatoinships.

Distances are made to overcome..And emerge out stronger..Could connect a lot with this post coz have been in a Long distance relationship for four long years..Though i have shed endless tears coz sometimes it just gets out of your hand, there have been the most beautiful moments too..listening to his smile over the phone, being so near despite the distance..You know being apart does bring you closer..But yes, you just need to put in a lot of yourself into the relationship..
Now I'm together with the one I love..married.. Your post brought back all those moments.. Dont have words to describe what i feel..
