How Bond Becomes Bond

You wait through the whole movie for him to say just that line - The name is Bond, James Bond. The wait is long but then you won't mind waiting through the movie anyway.

This is a different Bond you get to see here. Daniel Craig has had a lot of detractors claiming that he's not suited to play Bond. This movie plays on that sentiment and ends up delivering Bond. Just not the way you have been used to, till now.

This is the movie of how Bond becomes Bond, James Bond. It's almost like a 'prequel' where you get to see exactly how a secret agent matures to become the best known spy of the reel world. And all through this 'maturing process', you get to see a Bond who is emotional, romantic, gritty, passionate... raw. The movie begins with how Bond gets his '00' status and then criss-crosses the world through Madagascar, Bahamas, the fictitious Royale Eaux and finally Venice. The action sequences are quite out of the world - raw action. The chase in the beginning of the movie through a town in Madagascar HAS to be seen to be believed. Daniel Craig has already won a lot of praise for doing his own action scenes - something worth watching.

Eva Green doesn't play the stereotypical Bond girl, indeed she's hardly a 'Bond girl at all! The exchanges between Bond and Vesper are quite something. Even then, you get to see a very different Bond. A Bond that Craig bonds with rather well.

So yes, go ahead and watch it. I am definitely going to, once more.
