Half A Tag and A Song

This one's been playing on my pod for a while now...

"What kind of love have you got?
You should be home, but you’re not
A room full of noise and dangerous boys
Still makes you thirsty and hot
I heard about you and that man
There’s just one thing I don’t understand
You say he’s a liar and he put out
Your fire
How come you still got his gun in your hand?
Victim of love , I see a broken heart
You got your stories to tell
Victim of love, it’s such an easy part
And you know how to play it so well

Some people never come clean
I think you know what I mean
You’re walkin’ the wire, pain and desire
Looking for love in between

Tell me your secrets, I’ll tell you mine
This ain’t no time to be cool
And tell all your girlfriends,
You ’been around the world’ friends
That talk is for losers and fools

Victim of love, I see a broken heart
I could be wrong, but I’m no
Victim of love, we’re not so far apart
Show me, what kind of love have you got?

Victim of love, you’re just a victim of love
I could be wrong , but I’m not
Victim of love, now you’re a victim of love
What kind of love have you got?
What kind of love have you got?
What kind of love have you got?"

Love it or hate it, blame The Eagles for Victim Of Love.

Now that Maya has tagged me, I gotta do the bit. So here goes half of it..

A. 5 people who top your shit list

1. Pretenders
No, I am not alluding to the serial that used to appear on Star World. It was quite good actually, used to watch that one and JAG very religiously. I am talking about the real-life pretenders here.

Those who try their best to convince the world that they know a helluva lot and try to act like someone they are not. You find tons of those sorts online especially.

2. The ‘Quoters’
Yeah, you who quote from books, scriptures, poems et al. It shows that you have read a lot and can summon up all kinds of information. To me you are no better than no.1 in this list. With no ideas or realization to call your own, you live on borrowed beliefs and borrowed wisdom.

3. Public Hygiene Hazards
All those who spit/defecate/litter/generally make roads/walls unhealthy and unpleasant. Those who have crossed Mulund Check Naka to catch a bus will agree.

4. Lechs
Those who ogle at women and pass the worst comments possible, letting their imagination hit abysmal depths. Ghar mein maa behen nahin hai kya?

5. Liars
I absolutely detest anyone who lies to me. Telling the truth won’t hurt, trust me. What makes it doubly worse is that when you lie to me, I know it…

Call me conservative, but these are just a few things that can make my blood boil. First hand experience talks here.

B. Close brushes with death/danger

1. Age Six Months
Some respiratory disorder afflicted me, couldn’t breathe n stuff. Was hoping for an early exit but none was forthcoming. Prayers and passion pulled me through.

2. Age 23 years
A brake failure that plummeted my bus down a gorge, around 100 metres… bus overturned and got smashed. Two fatalities, a number of serious injuries… Rashmi and I were lucky enough to escape without a scratch.

3. Age 27 years
A helmetless headlong fling from the bike in Bangalore in December 2005. Escaped with broken ribs.

C. 5 Preferable modes of suicide

Suicide won’t get anyone anywhere. You gotta slog till your karmic counter is back to zero.

D. 5 Guilty pleasures

I don’t feel guilty at all. So I can’t really comment on this one. Pleasures are far too many to enumerate or list in any order. Am listening to Ozzy as I type this and I am enjoying the music thoroughly. With all his Satanic posturing, should I feel guilty? Hah! You got another thing comin! (Yeah, I like Judas Priest as well).

E. 5 things you never want to forget

Tough one coz I don't wanna forget anything but I gotta prioritize, eh?

1. Never want to forget the sacrifices and efforts made by my parents. You all know what I am talking about.

2. Never want to forget the teachers I have had – whether academic or otherwise.
3. My friends – who have been with me through thick and thin. Precious few, therefore even more precious
4. The team I am working with now, an amazing bunch of talented, motivated and committed enthusiasts
5. Every second – of my life. I never want to forget. Lessons everywhere, still learning of course.

F. 5 things I wish to forget

Answered in point no.5 above!

Rest in next.....!
